IMPACT & STRATEGY

The Challenge

mRNA technologies have demonstrated transformative potential, but access remains uneven because of:

  • Limited manufacturing capacity in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs)
  • Costly key raw materials and chemicals
  • High production costs

Our Role

Green Lipids enables decentralized ionizable lipid manufacturing by providing essential components that can be integrated into LMIC mRNA vaccine and therapeutics production. The technology is also applicable to research and product development requiring transfection.

Our Vision

To become a leading provider of affordable ionizable lipids, produced using environmentally responsible principles, that are required for RNA medicines

Strategic Alignment

Our work aligns with significant global health initiatives:

Impact Areas

Pandemic Preparedness

Rapid access to lipid components of LNPs enables faster responses to emerging threats

Endemic Disease Solutions

Supports development of vaccines and therapeutics for diseases such as:

  • Tuberculosis
  • HIV
  • Hepatitis B

Regional Economic Development

  • Use of local supply chains
  • Skills development
  • Industrial growth
